The Beginning
It all started in 2022 at the University of Utrecht, where our founder Leo Hanhart began exploring the emerging world of generative AI. As he dove deeper into the technology, he discovered something crucial: the limitations were as significant as the possibilities. But rather than being discouraged, Leo saw opportunity.
The desire to build something meaningful with AI became impossible to ignore. What started as late-night experiments and conversations with fellow innovators evolved into a vision that demanded to be brought to life.
The pressure from the surrounding ecosystem, the excitement of what could be possible, and the support of Utrecht INC created the perfect storm. The AI Club was officially founded, not just as a company, but as a movement built on ideas bigger than any one person.
